I love food

Last night my husband and I went on a belated anniversary night on the town. Acutally we just went to Champaign, ate out, and did some minor shopping. We both really like food a little too much and we like to try new and interesting restaurants and new and intereseting foods. It is pretty hard to get the "hip" places or the places that are more bar than grill with two litle ones. We have been making our way around downtown Champaign for a while now. Last night we finally got to Seven Saints. This restaurant/bar hasn't been open for a whole long time so we weren't completely out of the "hip" loop on that one. We got there just two seconds after the Illini game ended so there were a few people there already and many more on the way. The place looked really cool but the accoustics sucked. By the time we left the place was full and we could hardly hear eachother. Maybe, if we had gotten there earlier or on a weekday we would have had a better time. Anyway, I got the chipotle southwest salad and hubby got a smoked bbq slider, tomato bisque soup and goat cheese salad. I really liked mine, great flavor. The menu recommeds adding the marinated steak tips and I do as well. So, I really liked the salad and it was in a big bowl but it actually lacked something that I still can't put my finger on. They have combos with soup/salad/sandwiches. I think I needed something like a sandwich or slider with mine. I was eyeballing their gourmet grilled cheese before I finally decided on the salad. Oh well, all and all I would recommed Seven Saints, maybe for lunch.
